In this role, you will be part of Thermo Fisher Scientific's ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD), which develops, manufactures, and markets diagnostic tests for allergy, asthma, and autoimmune diseases.

With approximately 1,900 employees worldwide, IDD is the global leader in in vitro allergy diagnostics and a leading provider of autoimmune diagnostics in Europe. Our Uppsala site, home to more than 750 employees, serves as the division's global headquarters and includes both research and development and manufacturing operations.

Your future challenge

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Phadia 1.0 Program.

In this role, you will lead strategic projects focused on software and hardware updates, product lifecycle management, and platform modernization. Working across R&D, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Operations, Service, Supply Chain, and Commercial functions, you will ensure successful project delivery throughout the product development lifecycle.

What you will do

As Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead complex cross-functional projects involving software releases, hardware upgrades, and product lifecycle initiatives.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate activities across technical and business functions to ensure successful project execution.
  • Drive project governance, stakeholder communication, and decision-making.
  • Identify and manage technical, operational, regulatory, and business risks.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality, regulatory, timeline, and business requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvements in project management practices and support strategic program planning.

You are a collaborative and structured leader who enjoys managing complex technical projects and building strong relationships across functions. You combine strategic thinking with excellent execution and are comfortable leading teams in a matrix organization.

We believe you have:

  • An advanced degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience managing complex cross-functional projects.
  • A degree in Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience leading projects involving integrated hardware and software development.
  • Proven success managing multiple concurrent projects in a matrix organization.
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and risks.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

The following are considered an advantage:

  • PMP certification or equivalent.
  • Experience within medical devices, diagnostics, laboratory automation, or another regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of Design Controls, FDA regulations, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, and risk management.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management and platform modernization.
  • Experience leading global project teams.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar planning tools.
  • Swedish language skills.
