Work Location Pasir Gudang 2, Johor Reporting To QA Officer Working hours 8.00AM – 8.00PM, 8.00PM – 8.00AM
QA Lab Technician performs in-process and finished product testing to ensure products meet established quality and food safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in ensuring compliance with GLP, GMP, HACCP, FSSC, and Halal standards and requirements.
- Conduct physical, chemical, and/or microbiological testing of incoming materials, in-process materials, and finished products in accordance with established SOPs and work instructions (WI).
- Ensure all QA findings and results are accurately recorded in the relevant forms and checklists.
- Ensure raw material and finished product quality meet established specifications.
- Communicate any food safety (FS) or quality assurance (QA) issues, abnormalities, or non-conformances to the immediate superior promptly.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization through good housekeeping and 5S practices.
- Calibrate laboratory measuring equipment according to the established calibration schedule.
- Prepare standard test solutions and reagents for laboratory testing.
- Prepare samples for pre-shipment requirements, regulatory submissions, and external testing.
- Ensure retained samples are stored and maintained according to established requirements.
- Assist in training new QA personnel.
- Prepare daily reports and maintain accurate records and inventory of laboratory supplies.
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the superior from time to time.
- Adhere to professional ethics and comply with the Company's Policy Regarding Interpersonal Relationships and Fraternization.
Qualifications and skills
- Minimum SPM qualification or equivalent; Diploma or higher qualifications are an added advantage.
- Basic hands-on knowledge of laboratory equipment, apparatus, and testing techniques.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Knowledge of food safety systems such as HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, or FSSC 22000 is an advantage.
- Good documentation, reporting, and record-keeping skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under production timelines.
- Willing and able to work shifts and overtime when required.
