About the role
We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our team. You'll be conducting analytics on our pricing operations to ensure we provide our customers with competitive and fair pricing. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Australian Energy market and state-of-the-art data infrastructure, together with our team of Australian Energy market experts and data experts.
What you'll do
- Provide our Pricing & Sales Team with insights into our electricity and gas pricing strategy, using historical consumption, price and customer pricing data;
- Support our revenue assurance track, making sure that we are billed correctly by other market participants;
- Support Sales forecasting by creating an estimation of our future sales;
- Work closely with our Data Engineering team, making sure that you have the right data available;
- Work collaboratively with business units to ensure developed reports and data are clear, functional, and effective in communicating messages and insights using suitable data visualisation techniques and methods;
- Write data models in dbt using SQL;
- Write python scripts to support the pricing analysis;
- Create reports and dashboards using Holistics;
You will be a good candidate if you:
- Have completed relevant education, a relevant (energy) technical/finance education is a strong advantage;
- Have a proven track record of 1-3 years of experience working as an analyst;
- Are very skillful in SQL, python and Excel;
- Have excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, and work accurately;
- Are able to work independently and don’t mind being an all-rounder;
- Have strong analytical and problem solving skills;
- Have good stakeholder management, communication skills and a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
Extra points if you:
- Have experience with responding to notices to provide information to energy market regulators and commissions and have a passion for renewable energy;
- Have experience with reporting requirements of regulators or government bodies;
- Are familiar with Git, Dagster, Snowflake or Salesforce;
- Are familiar with data visualisations tools, such as Tableau or PowerBI.
