Role Overview:
The Sr Strategic Finance Project Analyst leads high-priority finance projects and cross-functional workstreams by bringing structure, governance, and disciplined execution to complex initiatives. This role develops actionable insights from financial, operational, and market data; translates findings into clear implications, risks, opportunities, and recommendations; and prepares executive-ready materials that support senior leadership decision-making, portfolio oversight, and achievement of strategic objectives.
Work Arrangement:
- Remote within the United States, working Eastern Standard Time
- For roles that are 100% remote or hybrid, you must have access to a reliable high-speed internet connection to support daily job responsibilities. A minimum bandwidth of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is required. Those fully remote associates residing in states where service is required by contract, law, or regulation will be allowed to submit for reimbursement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional finance projects and portfolio workstreams from planning through execution, including project charters, workplans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decision logs, and governance routines.
- Develop business cases, financial models, and value assessments in partnership with Finance, IS, and business leaders, including data collection, assumption validation, scenario analysis, and expected outcome tracking.
- Synthesize financial, operational, and market data into insights that identify performance drivers, root causes, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions for leadership review.
- Build and maintain portfolio dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to monitor project performance, value realization, financial impact, and emerging risks or opportunities.
- Prepare executive-facing materials, including Board, senior leadership, steering committee, and CFO/CEO-level updates, with concise storylines, decision frameworks, talking points, and clear “so what” implications.
- Identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, dependencies, and barriers across projects, pairing escalations with mitigation options, accountable owners, timing, and recommended decisions.
- Facilitate working sessions, leadership reviews, and cross-functional discussions to align stakeholders, clarify decisions needed, confirm ownership, and drive timely follow-through.
- Drive standardization of project templates, executive reporting formats, action trackers, dashboards, and portfolio management processes to improve consistency and repeatability.
- Mentor junior analysts and promote analytical rigor, structured thinking, and executive-ready communication across assigned projects and deliverables.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5 or more years Finance, project coordination, business analysis, analytics, healthcare, or related experience.
Other Skills:
- Strong project management skills, including workplans, milestones, RAID logs, decision logs, action trackers, and other governance routines.
- Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous problems and translate complex information into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Advanced analytical, financial modeling, business case development, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong executive communication, storytelling, presentation, and audience-tailoring skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders, facilitate discussions, and drive timely follow-through.
- Experience developing dashboards, KPIs, portfolio reporting, and performance monitoring tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with data visualization or BI tools preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, organization, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
