Full description

We are looking for a Product Software Engineer to join our Technology Solutions division.

The Technology Solutions squad builds solutions that unlock value for clients across the sports industry. We work mainly on a project basis, delivering custom-built applications, APIs and AI tools for clients across sports competitions, federations, brands and broadcasters.

Our team operates on an “internal open source” model; we value collective stewardship of our codebase rather than individual silos. You will be a key driver in understanding the “why” behind our systems and the customers they serve

This role is for someone who balances high-level system design with a pragmatic, product-first mindset. You will not just execute on projects; you will help shape them while coaching and mentoring those around you.

What You’ll Do• Solution Stewardship: Partner with PMs and stakeholders to build custom solutions. You are expected to suggest technical and feature trade-offs to ensure our solutions fit the brief and deliver in the time available without compromising quality

  • Engineering Excellence: Develop robust, low-latency solutions using AWS services
  • Collective Contribution: Participate in our “open source” internal culture. You will contribute to a shared ecosystem of services and tools, prioritizing the best collective outcome over component “ownership”, and emphasising scalability.
  • Event Support: Our solutions are often focused on specific sporting events, meaning fixed deadlines and go-live support requirements that you will help to provide
  • Conscious AI: Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and enhance system logic, whilst maintaining human oversight and accountability.
  • Lean XP Practices: Work within an XP-influenced environment, utilizing TDD and continuous delivery to maintain speed and quality in a high-stakes environments.

What You’ll Bring• Experience: with several years of experience behind you, you are ready to take on a Mid-level role. We welcome applications from recent bootcamp graduate, eg Makers Academy, Le Wagon.

  • Python: a strong proficiency in Python is essential, whilst you should also be comfortable moving between and picking up new languages as we evolve our services
  • Agentic Coding: everyday user of agentic coding workflows, actively pushing the boundaries of AI-assisted development by leveraging Claude Skills, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and autonomous agents.
  • AWS Serverless: experience building and scaling event-driven architectures (Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB).
  • Sports Literate: You follow sports and understand the context of the data and markets we build for

Nice to Haves• Java: our code base contains a significant amount of Java, hands on experience would be helpful

  • Sports business experience: knowledge of the business would be helpful
  • Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience with Terraform
  • Data Modeling: Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL data modeling for high-volume, low-latency environments
  • Hybrid-working out of our London office (Farringdon) - 3 days/week minimum in office
  • Salary based on our external benchmarking framework, plus eligibility for a bonus scheme.
  • Private health insurance, occupational life cover, and income protection insurance.
  • Personal days, including birthdays and health and wellness days
  • AI forward culture including Claude Code Premium subscription
