Job Summary
Iron Mountain is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer – Level 2 (Data Center) to join our Data Center Operations / IT Infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert-level management of data center network infrastructure, including complex troubleshooting and advanced configuration in a mission-critical environment. You will join a dedicated team of infrastructure experts focused on maintaining high-availability network fabrics and supporting seamless cross-platform integration.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Responsibility 1: Manage and optimize data center network infrastructure by designing, configuring, and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers to ensure peak performance and capacity.
- Responsibility 2: Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support teams, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vendors, and internal server and storage teams to resolve escalated incidents and integrate cross-platform solutions.
- Responsibility 3: Ensure compliance with data center security standards and organizational policies by managing firewall rules, Virtual Private Network (VPN) configurations, and network access controls.
What You’ll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
- 8+ years of experience in network operations, with at least 4 years specifically in a senior or Level 2 support role.
Strong knowledge of enterprise networking protocols and architectures, including Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN), and spine-leaf architecture.
- Proven ability in advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving within high-availability environments, including performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and managing complex Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) issues.
