Process Overview:
Global Risk Analytics (GRA) provides decision support services to enable our banking and markets, wealth management, capital management and credit risk business partners to manage risk well. To accomplish this, we build, develop and maintain models for risk and loss measurement. Additionally, we produce and administer forecasts supporting allowance and stress-testing both domestically (US) and internationally. Our teams complement each other and benefit from broad and diverse employment and experience within industries including government, academia, finance, law, consulting and the military. Through developing our people, embracing operational excellence to drive process improvements, and investing in strategic data initiatives, we provide enhanced risk management capabilities, insights and analysis to our business partners.
Job Description:
As an Analyst within Global Risk Analytics, the individual will contribute to one of several key sub-functions, which may include data mining, data research, data quality management, and development activities within a rapidly evolving data ecosystem. The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent business process analysis capabilities, and effective interpersonal skills. The analyst will be responsible for extracting and analyzing large, complex datasets, interpreting business requirements, and translating them into robust technical designs. This includes developing, enhancing, and preparing code for production deployment. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about uncovering insights from large-scale data. They should be comfortable working with diverse business teams across risk, operations, and technology, and capable of delivering high-complexity projects both independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
Develop and enhance sophisticated analytical systems that support enterprise-wide banking strategies, including credit risk, fraud analytics, customer segmentation, and operational efficiency.
Research, extract, and integrate datasets from multiple banking data warehouses and source systems (e.g., loan servicing systems, card platforms, deposits, risk engines).
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners—Risk, Finance, Technology, Compliance, and Product—to convert business requirements into analytical deliverables.
- Conduct end-to-end data management activities, including data collection, validation, profiling, transformation, and quality assurance for critical banking datasets.
- Design, build, and automate executive dashboards and reports using BI tools, applying statistical techniques to highlight portfolio performance and emerging risk trends.
- Perform deep-dive portfolio analysis on credit behavior, delinquency trends, loss forecasting, segmentation, and operational bottlenecks to drive strategic recommendations.
- Support the development, optimization, and tuning of ETL pipelines, production jobs, and analytical processes across the risk and operations lifecycle.
- Contribute to risk modeling initiatives including PD/LGD/EAD calculations, early warning indicators, stress testing, and model monitoring while adhering to regulatory and governance standards.
Requirements
Education : B.E. / B. Tech/M.E. /M. Tech, A graduate degree in a quantitative or STEM discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Finance)
Experience Range: 8-12 Years
Foundation Skills :
Hands-on experience with Teradata architecture, utilities, and performance optimization.
- Strong data analysis capabilities using SQL and Python, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
- Proficiency in developing interactive dashboards and visual analytics using Tableau.
- Experience in Shell scripting for automation, workflow orchestration, and production operations.
- Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence for Agile project tracking, documentation, and collaboration.
- Excel skills, including data manipulation, formula creation, pivot tables, and reporting. •
Desired Skills
- Basic understanding of finance and banking concepts, including financial statements and risk fundamentals.
- Experience designing, developing, and implementing scalable data or infrastructure solutions, preferably in analytics or risk environments.
- Strong documentation abilities—capable of capturing process flows, inputs/outputs, data definitions, business requirements, and identifying gaps to streamline workflows.
