Summary
We are seeking a consultant – Data Engineering with expertise in Data Engineering Concepts, SQL, Data Warehousing, Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and Data Warehousing best practices. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to build efficient data pipelines and enable data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibility
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Implement data warehousing solutions and support end-to-end data lifecycle management.
- Work with SQL to write complex queries, optimize performance, and manage data transformation.
- Utilize Azure Portal to manage and monitor cloud-based data infrastructure.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and build data models for analytics and reporting.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and governance in alignment with best practices.
- Provide basic support and understanding of Microsoft Fabric for analytics and data management.
- Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and optimize cloud-based data workflows.
- Stay up to date with Azure and Microsoft Fabric advancements to enhance data engineering processes.
Other Responsibilities
- Report project/task status to the appropriate Application Development Manager on a weekly basis (at minimum).
- Ensure stakeholders are responded to in a timely and professional manner. Foster open lines of communication with all parties.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical knowledge/experience.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
- Strong expertise in SQL, including query performance tuning and stored procedures.
- Hands-on experience with Data Warehousing concepts, star/snowflake schema, indexing, and partitioning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory (ADF) for ETL/ELT workflows.
- Working knowledge of Azure Portal for resource management and monitoring.
- Understanding of Microsoft Fabric and its role in data analytics.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage).
- Experience in data modeling, data governance, and metadata management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and optimize data pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python or Spark for data transformations.
- Exposure to real-time data processing (e.g., Azure Event Hubs, Stream Analytics).
- Certifications in Azure Data Engineering (e.g., DP-203), Fabric Certifications (DP600, DP700) or relevant Microsoft certifications.
- Understanding of Power BI or other visualization tools.
