Nexaminds is looking for a Senior Android Developer to design, build, and maintain high-quality native Android applications. In this role, you'll focus on developing scalable and reliable mobile solutions using Kotlin while collaborating closely with backend and web engineering teams to deliver seamless application experiences.
Location: Mexico (Remote)
This position is open exclusively to candidates who are currently residing in Mexico. Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience, with a strong background building and maintaining production mobile applications.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin and Android Studio.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining native Android applications.
- Experience integrating Android applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Strong understanding of Android application development, architecture, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving performance, stability, and production issues in Android applications.
- Experience collaborating with backend and web engineering teams, particularly with Java-based backend services and React applications.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services, as the client environment uses Azure.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical decisions, progress, blockers, and tradeoffs.
- Strong ownership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Android Studio.
- Build reliable integrations between Android applications and RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Collaborate with Java backend and React web teams to ensure smooth API integration and a consistent user experience.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance, stability, and production issues across Android applications.
- Contribute to application architecture and technical decisions related to Android development.
- Communicate progress, blockers, technical tradeoffs, and project updates clearly with engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Support mobile application releases and contribute to improving CI/CD deployment processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable Android solutions.
