Job Description

He aha te tūranga - About the role:

  • 12 month fixed term contract based in Auckland (Mt Wellington) or Christchurch (Justice Precinct)

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead one of our most important transformation initiatives: the implementation of a new Fundraising CRM platform. This is much more than a technology project. It's an opportunity to help transform how we engage with supporters, strengthen fundraising capability, and enable better experiences for our donors.

Working as part of our Portfolio Delivery team but closely with our passionate and highly engaged Fundraising team, you'll lead a complex programme of work that combines people, process, data, change, and technology. You'll bring the leadership and delivery expertise needed to navigate organisational change, align diverse stakeholders, and ensure we realise the full benefits of this investment.

As Senior Project Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering our Fundraising CRM implementation from planning through to successful adoption and benefits realisation.

You'll partner with Fundraising leaders, subject matter experts, technology teams, vendors, and stakeholders across the organisation to ensure the solution delivers meaningful business outcomes. You'll be equally comfortable managing project plans and risks, facilitating workshops, driving decision-making, and leading change initiatives that help people embrace new ways of working.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of a major Fundraising CRM transformation project.
  • Building strong partnerships with our Fundraising team and key stakeholders across the organisation
  • Managing project scope, schedule, budget, governance, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Coordinating internal teams, external vendors, and implementation partners.
  • Supporting business process redesign and operating model changes where required.
  • Driving stakeholder engagement, communication, and organisational change activities
  • Ensuring quality delivery, user readiness, and successful transition into business-as-usual operations.
  • Tracking benefits and outcomes to ensure the project delivers lasting value.

Qualifications

Ko wai koe - About you:

This role will suit someone who thrives in complex environments and understands that successful projects are about much more than systems and technology. You will bring

  • Significant experience delivering complex projects and programmes, ideally involving business transformation and technology enablement.
  • Strong project management expertise with a track record of delivering successful outcomes in dynamic environments.
  • Experience leading projects that have substantial people, process, change, and stakeholder components.
  • Experience leading procurement, market engagement, RFP processes, vendor selection, and contract negotiations for technology or business solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence working with senior leaders, business stakeholders, and technical teams
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and implementation partners.
  • A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach combined with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with CRM, fundraising, or customer management platforms would be advantageous, but is not essential.
