About the Opportunity

We are a $4B global manufacturing enterprise continuing to modernize our data and analytics platforms using Microsoft cloud technologies. We are seeking an early‑career Microsoft Data Engineer to join our growing team and help build reliable, scalable data pipelines that support reporting, analytics, and operational insights across the business.

This role is ideal for someone with foundational experience in Azure data services, who wants to deepen their skills in Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric while working in a real‑world, enterprise manufacturing environment. You will work closely with experienced data engineers and analytics teams to ingest, transform, and curate data through the Bronze and Silver layers of a Medallion Architecture.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and/or Microsoft Fabric.

• Ingest data from multiple source systems (ERP, operational databases, APIs, files, cloud sources) into the Bronze layer.

• Perform data cleansing, standardization, and transformations to curate datasets in the Silver layer.

• Write and maintain SQL and Spark / PySpark code with guidance and code reviews from senior engineers.

• Support data quality checks, validation rules, and basic monitoring of pipelines.

• Collaborate with BI developers, analytics engineers, and business partners to understand data requirements.

• Follow established standards for data security, governance, and access controls.

• Document pipelines, data structures, and processes to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a data engineering, analytics engineering, or data‑focused role.

• Exposure to Azure data services, particularly Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, or Microsoft Fabric.

• Working knowledge of SQL.

• Basic experience with Spark, PySpark, or similar data processing frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience or coursework using Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Notebooks, Dataflows).

• Exposure to Medallion Architecture concepts (Bronze / Silver / Gold layers).

• Manufacturing, industrial, or operational data experience (ERP, supply chain, plant data).

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
