National Sales Manager – Packaged Products

The National Product Commercialization Manager is responsible for managing the current long-term client list of major retailers and their assortments, but more importantly growing the business and driving incremental growth with new and existing customers. The goal of this position is for sales and profitability growth that maximizes the value of the newly expanded capacity. The successful candidate will be an experienced self-starter who is responsible for executing new corporate branding initiatives and achieving the sales, trade spend and profitability targets on a blend of private label, existing brands and new brands. The salary range for this position is $115,000-$125,000 based on qualifications and experience.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop and collaborate to build strong relationships with major retailers in line with divisional, corporate and brand objectives.
  • Build on the base of major grocery retailers, hardware and home improvement retailers.
  • Execute and achieve sales budgets.
  • Work internally with Walker marketing, product development and operations to develop innovative account specific plans that maximize sales, profit, merchandising, distribution and market share.
  • Implement sales promotions that maximize both volume and brand growth while building brand equity.
  • Manage trade spend budget that is in line with the annual pricing & promotion strategy.
  • Utilize and analyze market and account specific data to develop strong fact-based sales plans for internal communications as well as sales presentations to customers.
  • Being a high impact coach through consistent, structured coaching that strengthens skills and lifts overall team performance
  • Represent Walker at customer events, tradeshows, conferences, and company events.

Here’s What You Need

  • Completion of a 2–3-year post-secondary program in Business or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of key account management experience within the consumer-packaged goods industry.
  • Knowledge of – or a genuine interest in - the Lawn and Garden retail category and environmental industry.
  • This position is based at either the Walker Oakville office or the All Treat Farms office and production site at Arthur, ON.
  • Ability to travel to other locations up to once per week (Arthur, Oakville, Niagara).
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s Licence
  • Strong leadership, consensus and team building skills
  • Strong verbal and written English language skills
