About the role
We are looking for a Pre-Sales Cybersecurity Engineer with a strong background in Privileged Access Management (PAM), identity security, and IT infrastructure to join our technical team and act as a trusted technical advisor for partners and customers.
This role is key in supporting the sales organization by designing, presenting, and validating cybersecurity solutions, combining strong technical expertise with business understanding and excellent communication skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Working closely with the sales team to support all pre-sales activities, including customer meetings, solution presentations, and technical workshops.
- Understanding customer and partner requirements and translating them into effective cybersecurity architectures aligned with Ingecom Ignition’s portfolio.
- Acting as a technical reference for partners and end customers throughout the pre-sales cycle.
- Designing and delivering technical presentations, demos, and solution proposals.
- Managing and executing Proof of Concept (PoC) activities, from planning to validation, in collaboration with resellers and end customers.
- Supporting initial configuration, deployment, and validation of solutions during early project phases.
- Serving as a technical interface between vendors, partners, customers, and internal teams.
- Delivering technical training sessions, workshops, and enablement activities (classroom, online, or on-the-job).
- Keeping up to date with market trends, emerging technologies, and vendor solutions.
Qualifications & Experience | Core Requirements
- Proven experience in IT, preferably in pre-sales, technical consulting, cybersecurity, or engineering roles.
- Strong ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders: sales teams, vendors, partners, and customers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Good command of English (B1–B2 level), for interaction with vendors and technical documentation.
- Willingness to travel within Italy as required.
Technical Skills & Expertise
Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Privileged Access Management (PAM) platforms and privileged account lifecycle management
- Password vaulting, credential rotation, discovery, and onboarding of privileged accounts
- Privileged session management, monitoring, recording, and auditing
- Least privilege, privilege elevation, application control, and endpoint privilege management
- Active Directory, LDAP, identity management, authentication, and authorization concepts
- Networking fundamentals and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, LAN, WAN, VPN, SSH, RDP, SMB)
- Administration of Windows and Linux systems, services, and privileged accounts
- Integration of PAM solutions with SIEM, ITSM, MFA, directories, and security platforms
- Cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and cloud privileged access concepts
- Virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and common enterprise infrastructure components
- Basic knowledge of databases, APIs, scripting, and automation for system integration
- Security principles including least privilege, Zero Trust, segregation of duties, and credential protection
- Troubleshooting of infrastructure, connectivity, certificates, authentication, and access issues
- Understanding of security frameworks and regulatory requirements related to privileged access
Nice to Have
- Experience delivering technical training or workshops.
- Knowledge of or experience with PAM vendors such as Delinea, BeyondTrust, CyberArk, WALLIX, or similar solutions.
- Relevant certifications, either vendor-neutral or vendor-specific.
- Experience with solution deployment, migration, or professional services activities is a nice to have
