This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Technical Marketing Engineer – Network Automation based in the United States.
This senior technical marketing role sits at the intersection of network automation, product strategy, and go-to-market execution. You will translate advanced automation capabilities into practical workflows, compelling technical content, and field enablement. Your work will help network engineers and decision-makers understand how automation can improve network operations, reliability, and change management. You will collaborate closely with Product, Sales, Solutions, and Marketing teams to shape use cases and influence product direction. The role combines hands-on technical work with customer engagement, demonstrations, thought leadership, and industry participation. You will build lab environments, develop automation integrations, and create content around modern NetDevOps and intent-based networking. This is a highly technical, externally visible, non-quota-carrying opportunity with significant influence on market positioning and adoption.

Accountabilities: As Senior Technical Marketing Engineer, you will help define, demonstrate, and communicate network automation capabilities while enabling customers, partners, and internal teams to adopt modern automation practices.
- Partner with Product Management to define, validate, and shape network automation capabilities, workflows, and use cases.
- Design and evangelize practical customer workflows using network queries, APIs, verification-as-code, and CI/CD-driven change validation.
- Expand network and IT interoperability by enhancing existing product integrations and developing new integrations.
- Build and maintain technical lab environments for demonstrations, testing, technical validation, and automation experimentation.
- Create high-quality internal technical collateral, including training materials, demonstration guides, technical documentation, and sales enablement resources.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop external-facing technical assets such as whitepapers, solution briefs, blogs, presentations, videos, and other content.
- Enable Sales and Solutions teams through automation-focused demonstrations, technical messaging, presentations, and training.
- Participate in customer meetings, webinars, conferences, networking events, and industry trade shows as a technical representative.
- Develop thought leadership around network automation, NetDevOps, intent-based networking, and emerging approaches to modern network operations.
- Gather customer, field, and market feedback and translate those insights into product roadmap and positioning recommendations.
- Work across Product, Sales, Marketing, and technical teams to ensure consistent messaging and effective adoption of automation capabilities.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate combines deep enterprise networking expertise with hands-on automation experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate technical capabilities into compelling customer-facing solutions.
- 8+ years of experience as a Technical Marketing Engineer, Sales Engineer, Network Engineer, or in a comparable customer-facing technical role.
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts, including routing, switching, and network change management.
- Practical experience with NetDevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, or comparable automation practices applied to networking.
- Familiarity with Git, API integrations, and automation against network data models.
- Hands-on experience with network automation tools and frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, REST APIs, or similar technologies.
- Experience working with complex enterprise networks spanning on-premises, virtualized, and cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform and familiarity with virtualization and containerized environments.
- Proven ability to build and operate technical lab environments for demonstrations and validation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking, or a related technical discipline.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Sales, Marketing, Solutions, and other cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of data query and transformation technologies such as GraphQL, JSONPath, or comparable query engines is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and experience exploring AI-driven applications in network operations or data analysis is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Linux administration is a plus.
- Familiarity with network visibility, verification, analytics, or automation platforms is a plus.
- Experience presenting at conferences, webinars, customer events, or other technical forums is a plus.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
Benefits:
- Base salary of $200,000–$230,000, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
