Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
  • 2 years of experience leading design projects.

The Android Security and Privacy UX team is critical to this mission. We design, establish, and evolve the platform guardrails that protect users, earn customer trust, and guide developers across the global Android and Pixel ecosystem. Our team balances robust threat protection with low-friction user experiences, ensuring security and privacy feel natural, transparent, and empowering.

In this role, you will shape the foundation of digital trust for billions of users worldwide. You will own the critical platform surfaces that safeguard user data, leading complex initiatives from system-level permission architectures and proactive threat alerts to transparent on-device AI controls. We are looking for a systems-thinker with an eye for craft to balance robust ecosystem protection with frictionless user agency, helping us to set a new bar for intuitive, privacy-first design across the global Android ecosystem.

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful solutions.
  • Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, or high fidelity prototypes.
  • Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates.
  • Advocate for the prioritization of design centered changes, refinements, and improvements.
