Position: On-Site Product Operations & Quality Manager Location: Foshan, Guangdong, China Work Setup: On-site Type: Full-time Languages: English + working Mandarin Chinese Reports to: GTE Brands Supply Chain Manager

Why This Role?

  • Competitive base compensation with a performance bonus linked to key product operations and QC KPIs.
  • Direct reporting line to GTE Brands leadership.
  • High-ownership role within a fast-growing cross-border e-commerce operation.
  • Direct impact on product quality, catalog accuracy, loss prevention, and supplier performance.
  • Work closely with product operations, sourcing, warehouse, QC, and cross-border teams.

About GTE Brands

GTE Brands is scaling its cross-border e-commerce operations to 3,000+ products per day across multiple channels.

We are looking for an experienced Product Operations & Quality Manager to work on-site with our partner operation in Foshan.

This role sits between e-commerce operations, sourcing, product listings, warehouse/QC, and cross-border operations.

You will help ensure that what is listed online matches what is actually available and shipped, while maintaining consistent quality standards across the physical product operation.

Your Role

You will be responsible for keeping product operations accurate, resolving exceptions quickly, and maintaining a consistent quality bar across the partner operation.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Exception case monitoring (the daily heartbeat): review out-of-stock, oversold, and listing-mismatch cases across all service providers in the GTE dropshipping network; verify reports against warehouse and supplier data; approve or reject each case within an agreed SLA.
  • Stock-status discipline: ensure every SKU has a clear, current, source-of-truth stock status — neither phantom inventory (listed but not available) nor hidden inventory (available but listed as out). Hold service providers accountable for accuracy.
  • Substitution decisions: when a customer order cannot be fulfilled by the original SKU, evaluate candidate substitutes on availability, lead time, unit cost, and visual/spec match; document the decision and the loss avoided.
  • Listing adjustments to reduce loss: review listings daily for issues that drive refunds/returns/cancellations (misleading images, wrong specs, bad translations, broken variants, missing shipping info); coordinate with the listing team to fix and with the sourcing team to prevent recurrence.
  • On-site QC SOP design and rollout: own the end-to-end SOP for incoming-sample QC and pre-shipment QC at Potato's warehouse — from receiving checklist to disposition decision (pass/rework /reject/hold).
  • Vendor outreach sample QC: be the gatekeeper for samples submitted under the vendor outreach project; provide structured, evidence-based pass/reject decisions within the project's required turnaround.
  • Winning product quality improvement: monitor post-launch quality signals (return rate, negative review themes, defect photos) for top-selling SKUs; work with sourcing and suppliers to drive corrective actions and verify improvement.
  • Cross-team coordination: partner with Sourcing (new SKU intake criteria), Warehouse (receiving and storage), and Cross-Border Ops (claims and returns) so the exception pipeline has clear upstream and downstream owners.
  • Metrics and reporting: maintain a weekly exception + QC dashboard (cases reviewed, substitution rate, loss avoided, defect rate by supplier, sample pass rate); flag risks to GTE leadership proactively.
  • Process hardening at Potato: where existing Potato processes are inconsistent or undocumented, redesign them — but in a way Potato's team can actually run without you in the room.

What We're Looking For

Must Have

  • 5+ years in dropshipping operations, marketplace catalog management, e-commerce ops, or

QC with at least 1 year handling exception cases at scale (1,000+ SKUs/day)

  • Hands-on experience with at least one major platform's catalog/order tools (TikTok Shop

Seller Center, Temu Seller, Amazon Seller Central, Shopity, or equivalent)

  • Demonstrated ability to write and roll out an SOP that operations staff can actually follow
  • Strong data literacy: comfortable in Excel/Google Sheets, able to build exception and QC dashboards from raw data; SQL or BI tools a plus
  • Working English (written and spoken); Mandarin Chinese required for daily warehouse-floor coordination
  • Bachelor's degree or higher

Nice to Have

Experience with:

  • Prior experience at TikTok Shop, Temu, SHEIN, AliExpress, Amazon, or a comparable high-volume cross-border platform in an ops/catalog/QC role
  • Experience working with multiple service providers or 3PLs simultaneously
  • Familiarity with 1688 / Alibaba supplier ecosystem and how to push back on suppliers without breaking the relationship
  • Six Sigma, ISO 9001, or equivalent quality management background
  • Experience managing embedded or contract teams at a partner operation
  • Bilingual or near-bilingual English/Chinese

Important Before Applying

This role is best suited to candidates who have genuinely worked in high-volume e-commerce or dropshipping operations and have personally handled product exceptions, stock discrepancies, catalog issues, substitutions, or physical product QC.

It is not intended for candidates whose experience is limited to general logistics, warehouse administration, inventory coordination, or purely office-based supply-chain work.

If you have experience operating at 1,000+ SKUs/day, working with e-commerce platforms, and improving product or QC processes, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply now and tell us about the scale of e-commerce operations you have managed and the platforms you have worked with.
