This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Desenvolvedor(a) Backend Kotlin - Especialista based in Brazil.

This is a senior technical role focused on building and evolving backend platforms that support AI solutions at scale.You will work across critical services, BFFs, communication hubs, and strategic APIs in a high-impact technology environment.The role combines hands-on engineering with architectural leadership and long-term technical decision-making.You will help shape resilient, scalable, secure, and highly observable systems designed for mission-critical workloads.Working transversally with technology, product, data, and architecture teams, you will influence solutions from concept through production.You will also contribute to engineering excellence by mentoring peers and establishing modern development practices.This is an opportunity to have a direct impact on the evolution of AI Engineering platforms and large-scale digital products.

Accountabilities:

• Lead technically complex initiatives across the full software development lifecycle, from architectural design and implementation through deployment and production operations.

• Serve as a technical reference for the team and other squads, ensuring high standards for code quality, performance, security, resilience, and maintainability.

• Design and evolve backend architectures, assessing technical trade-offs, operational risks, scalability requirements, and long-term platform impacts.

• Establish and promote engineering best practices, including TDD/BDD, clean code, DDD, structured code reviews, and comprehensive automated testing.

• Take an active role in production support and system reliability, using observability, root-cause analysis, incident prevention, and continuous improvement practices.

• Collaborate with product, data, platform, and architecture stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable and sustainable technical solutions.

• Contribute to the evolution of engineering capabilities by mentoring developers, sharing knowledge, and raising technical maturity across teams.

Requirements:

• Advanced, proven experience developing backend solutions with Kotlin or Java, preferably using Spring Boot in high-scale environments.

• Strong expertise in microservices and BFF architectures, including API versioning, integration patterns, resilience, scalability, and asynchronous communication.

• Solid experience with automated testing at multiple levels, including unit, integration, and contract testing.

• Advanced knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra, with a focus on consistency, performance, and availability.

• Hands-on experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka, SQS, and SNS in high-volume environments.

• Strong understanding of observability practices, including metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, and SLI/SLO definition.

• Practical experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS, as well as Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation and mature CI/CD pipelines.

• Advanced knowledge of application security, including authentication and authorization with JWT and OAuth2, encryption, and secure-by-design practices.

• Experience working in agile environments with a DevOps mindset, strong technical ownership, and a focus on operational efficiency.

• Previous experience with complex platforms, system integrations, or mission-critical digital products.

• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills, with the ability to influence decisions across multiple teams.
