YOUR ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Application Developer to design, build, and support scalable Salesforce solutions for Genworth's insurance and investment business. The role will partner with business stakeholders, architects, product owners, vendors, and delivery teams to implement secure, maintainable solutions that improve financial workflows, data access, integration, and digital transformation outcomes.

In this role, you will work closely with project stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams and will independently contribute across the software development life cycle, including analysis, solution design, development, coding, unit testing, implementation, documentation, debugging, and application support. The position combines hands-on Salesforce engineering with strong problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and technical ownership. You will be expected to follow enterprise development standards, support production reliability, and continue building relevant Salesforce skills and certifications.

You will be working with best-in-class employees with diverse backgrounds in a collaborative and engaging environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL/SOSL, Screen Flows, and Salesforce configuration capabilities.
  • Develop reusable and metadata-driven Lightning Web Component frameworks for complex financial data experiences, including dynamic columns, filtering, frozen headers, and export capabilities.
  • Build Apex controllers, service classes, triggers, and test classes that support portfolio analytics, investment data aggregation, and business workflow automation.
  • Create Screen Flows and declarative automation to replace manual investment and operational processes for financial analysts and business users.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions aligned with Salesforce best practices, enterprise architecture standards, and application security requirements.
  • Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and enterprise or third-party systems using REST APIs and appropriate integration patterns.
  • Apply object-oriented design principles and proven Java patterns to produce modular, testable, and maintainable Apex solutions.
  • Implement Salesforce data models, validation rules, sharing controls, permission sets, and secure data-access patterns appropriate for regulated financial environments.
  • Develop components and solutions with the quality, documentation, and security controls needed to support enterprise review and, where applicable, AppExchange Security Review expectations.
  • Collaborate directly with US-based stakeholders, business analysts, architects, QA teams, administrators, product owners, and implementation partners throughout delivery.
  • Participate in solution design reviews, code reviews, unit testing, defect resolution, release readiness, and production support activities.
  • Use Git and established deployment or DevOps processes to manage source control, releases, and environment changes.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, analyze root causes, optimize performance, and improve the maintainability and resilience of existing Salesforce applications.
  • Prepare and maintain technical designs, configuration details, test evidence, release notes, implementation documentation, and operational handoff materials.
  • Drive coordination with upstream and downstream systems to support reliable data movement and smooth business operations.
  • Act as a dependable technical resource for the team by sharing knowledge, documenting reusable patterns, and supporting less experienced colleagues when needed.
  • Stay current with Salesforce platform capabilities, Lightning Web Components, integration practices, and secure development standards.

What you bring

  • College graduate with 4+ years of overall software development experience, including hands-on Salesforce development in the BFSI domain.
  • Strong hands-on development experience with Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Web Components, SOQL/SOSL, Screen Flows, and Salesforce configuration.
  • Experience designing metadata-driven and reusable Salesforce components for complex financial data and workflow use cases.
  • Experience developing Apex services for portfolio analytics, investment data aggregation, or comparable financial-services processes.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce data modeling, automation, validation, sharing, permission sets, and secure data-access patterns.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise platforms or third-party services using REST APIs.
  • Working knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, object-oriented programming, REST services, ETL concepts, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience using Git and disciplined source-control practices as part of an enterprise development process.
  • Experience delivering Salesforce solutions in regulated insurance, investment, banking, or broader financial-services environments.
  • Experience working directly with US-based stakeholders and distributed onshore/offshore delivery teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex business processes and convert them into reliable, maintainable, and scalable Salesforce solutions.
  • Strong unit-testing, debugging, documentation, and production-support discipline.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and deliver effectively in diverse, co-located, and remote teams.
  • Strong customer-service orientation, critical thinking, and a practical approach to solving business problems.
  • Salesforce certifications and continued job-related training are preferred and should be maintained or expanded as role needs evolve.
