About the Work

You will translate complex scientific, medical, and IT concepts into clear, accessible language for end users. Writing and editing project deliverables, user guides, video scripts, and marketing assets, you ensure all written documentation is publication-ready and easily understood.  This position is remote with periodic on-site presence in Silver Spring, MD.About Team Carney

You are a wordsmith and clarity advocate who excels at demystifying technical jargon for general audiences.• Clear Synthesizer: You gather complex raw data and convert it into engaging narrative prose.

  • Rigorous Editor: You enforce language standards, resolve author comments, and refine document layouts.
  • Multi-Format Writer: You adapt writing styles for user manuals, e-learning scripts, and marketing briefs.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Education: at least an Associate Degree  in English, Technical Writing, or related field.
  • Experience Requirements:  Minimum 3 years experience of professional experience with technical writing/editing.
  • Technical Requirements:
  • Mastery of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and publishing tools.
  • Proven ability to explain complex technical ideas in simple, grade-school-level language.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability clearance.
