The Business Analyst is responsible for developing a comprehensive understanding of the University’s spend and communicating the characteristics of that spend to key internal stakeholders. The aim of the Business Analyst is in developing procurement strategies by providing insights and actionable Intelligence mined from expense transactions and related datasets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collects, organizes, and analyzes transactional spend data from multiple systems. Creates an organizational spend map that outlines key spend characteristics. Categorize transactions as needed to summarize spend by key characteristics. Summarizes analysis into reports and communicates results to key stakeholders. Contributes to supplier rationalization decisions based on spend analysis. Supports Procurement staff by providing ad-hoc spend analysis as needed. Actively pursues means of automating data processing and analysis processes. Develops a strong technical understanding of the procurement systems in use. Regularly pursues professional development. Performs other duties and assists in procurement projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters of Business Administration or Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. Lean or Six Sigma experience. Certified Management Accountant. Fluency in Spanish or American Sign Language.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science degree with a concentration in business. Two-to-four years’ of professional experience in accounting and financial analysis. International Institution of Business Analysis (IIBA) certification or equivalent in Business Analytics. Experience with databases and large datasets and its application to business strategy. Well-developed reasoning, communication, and customer service skills. Working knowledge of procurement and source-to-pay software systems. Ability to articulate and defend the unique Christian educational mission and vision of Liberty University and its subsidiaries to a wide variety of individuals and groups. Individual must not be in default on any federal student or parent loan. Individual must not be convicted of, or pled nolo contendere or guilty to, a crime involving the acquisition, use, or expenditure of federal, state, or local government funds, or be administratively or judicially determined to have committed fraud or any other material violation of law involving federal, state, or local government funds (CFR 668.14(b)(18)(i)). To obtain LU-approved driver certification, individuals must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid driver’s license with a minimum of five (5) years of documented driving history, and maintain a clean driving record.

Strong organizational skills. Excellent computer skills including detailed knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information. Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner. Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business, government and community customers and associates.

Physical and Sensory Abilities
Occasionally required to travel to locations throughout Virginia and occasionally out of state. Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard. Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building. Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business. Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay Range
Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarks may be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity to ensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensation structure.
The position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00
