Purpose of the role
Focused on delivering individual projects, ensuring completion within scope, time, and budget with a more immediate focus.
Accountabilities
- Scope Management: Manages a single project with specific, defined objectives, deadlines, and deliverables. Their focus is on completing the project on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Strategic Focus: Operates more tactically, focusing on day-to-day management of resources, schedules, and deliverables for their individual project.

- Stakeholder Management: Primarily manages stakeholders related to their specific project, ensuring communication and expectations are clear for the project’s deliverables.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of complex financial crime change initiatives, driving transformation across processes, technology and operating models. Working across business, operations and technology teams, you will manage programme dependencies, shape delivery strategies, and ensure change is implemented effectively and sustainably. Your leadership will be critical in aligning stakeholders, managing risks, and delivering strategic outcomes that strengthen Barclays’ financial crime capabilities and regulatory compliance framework.
To be successful as a Senior Project Manager, you should have:
- Extensive project planning and delivery experience across regulatory or compliance programmes, ideally in financial crime
- Risk and issue management expertise with the ability to navigate regulatory scrutiny and tight timelines
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication across compliance, technology and operations teams
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- Familiarity with CDD/KYC lifecycle and ID&V controls, including digital onboarding and trigger-based reviews
- Experience in delivering in fast paced and iterative delivery environments
- Agile & Waterfall Delivery Expertise
- Knowledge of financial crime technology platforms or tooling (e.g. onboarding systems, workflow tools)
