Benefits
Full description
As a Staff Product Manager, you will help drive strategy and execution for our Mixed Signal hardware portfolio. The role is dynamic, learning-oriented, and challenging, requiring work across a wide range of stakeholders with visibility to executive leadership. If you want a role that demands a strong technical foundation and increasingly sophisticated business skill, this will challenge you.
You’ll work cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, and Sales to deeply understand customer problems and craft product strategies that clearly differentiate our solutions in the market. Alongside senior product managers and leadership, you’ll translate customer needs into product features and compelling benefits — essential to delivering solutions that resonate in the market and secure long-term competitive advantage.
You will be mentored by senior product managers and, in turn, support them on technical, analytical, and operational work while you build your own product strategy skills.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Positioning and messaging: market segmentation, application deep dives, and positioning that reflects our value proposition.
- Partner with Marketing and Sales: represent product management in sales training (positioning and competitive analysis) and in external customer engagements, including key customer visits and senior-level meetings.
- Product requirements: work with key R&D leaders to represent the business and customer perspective — the customer problem to be solved — so NI conceives and executes great products.
- Create impactful content: white papers, presentations, videos, product demos, and web collateral that drive awareness and demand for NI’s products and technologies.
- Support pre-sales as a subject matter expert, helping customers understand the value and capabilities of NI’s solutions.
- Monitor and report on product performance and health, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities across both demand and supply.
- Represent NI at industry events, trade shows, and conferences as a product expert and brand ambassador.
How You will Operate
You quickly build trust across stakeholders, influence without authority, negotiate effectively without eroding trust, stay focused on customer outcomes, and remain comfortable with ambiguity in high-stakes situations.
Who You Are:
You introduce new ways of looking at problems. You partner with others to get work done. You are confident under pressure.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering
- 2 years of relevant work experience; internships and co-ops count
- Legal authorization to work in the US - visa sponsorship will not be provided
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- 1–2 years of experience at NI, an NI partner, or in the broader test & measurement ecosystem. Strongly preferred: hands-on NI product experience — LabVIEW, data acquisition, or other academic or professional use of NI products
- Business and technical acumen grounded in intellectual honesty — earning the trust of R&D leadership takes deep expertise, sound judgment, transparency, and a commitment to doing what’s right for the product and the business
- Influence without authority — drive alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Adaptability and self-motivation — learn quickly, thrive in ambiguity, and take initiative
