SKF is looking for an engaged and collaborative Application Engineer, based in Gothenburg, to support our OEM customers across the Nordic region.

SKF’s Application Engineers are a vital part of the sales team, helping SKF stand out from competitors and maintain a leading market position.

In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive and knowledgeable Application Engineering team serving OEM customers. You'll help them improve through expert guidance, smart technical solutions, and contributions to reliable and sustainable performance — making a direct impact on industries that keep society moving.

Key Responsibilities

As an Application Engineer at SKF, you play an important role in supporting OEM customers. You work closely with Account Managers, Customer Experience teams, and fellow engineers to develop technically sound, customer‑focused solutions.

Your work combines deep technical knowledge, problem-solving, and human collaboration.

Your key responsibilities will be

  • Designing and verifying bearing arrangements using a risk‑based approach
  • Solving technical issues and performing root‑cause analyses, including bearing inspections
  • Guiding customers toward improved performance and reliability
  • Leading or supporting projects
  • Delivering clear and engaging technical presentations and trainings
  • Creating and maintaining relevant technical documentation and presentation materials
  • Planning and executing customer activities with the account team
  • Staying up to date with SKF’s full product and solution portfolio
  • Sharing knowledge and collaborating across teams
  • Visiting customer sites for technical discussions and events

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an engineer with a solid technical foundation—and a genuine interest in people, applications, and real‑world problem solving.

You recognize yourself in the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent technical background)
  • Experience in mechanical engineering, product development, sales, and/or project management
  • Proficient analytical and technical problem‑solving skills
  • Comfortable interacting directly with customers and building long‑term relationships
  • Good communication skills in conveying ideas and presenting complex topics in an engaging way
  • Experience with calculation tools for rotating machinery is an advantage
  • Fluent in English and Swedish verbal and written
