Full description

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

This is for a 1-year fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent.

About the role:

The Business Development Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the growth of the Payments business through pipeline management, business analytics, strategic reporting, and operational excellence. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of sales pipeline data, developing revenue forecasts, analyzing business performance trends, and providing actionable insights to support decision-making.

About the day-to-day:

  • Manage and maintain the Payments sales pipeline, ensuring accurate and timely tracking of opportunities, client activity, key milestones, revenue impact, and business risks.
  • Monitor opportunity progression through the sales lifecycle and provide regular reporting on pipeline health and performance.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance metrics to provide visibility into business development activities and outcomes.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and areas of opportunity within the sales pipeline and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Develop revenue forecasts and business performance insights by analyzing pipeline activity, conversion rates, market trends, and client engagement.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to support strategic planning, business growth initiatives, and resource allocation decisions.
  • Evaluate business performance against targets and identify key drivers impacting results.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and briefing materials for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Board of Directors, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Assist in developing client presentations, business cases, proposals, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies by standardizing reporting methodologies and business processes.
  • Enhance data quality, reporting governance, and reporting accuracy across business development activities, ensuring information is complete, reliable, and aligned with established standards.
  • Document processes and maintain business development reporting standards and procedures.

About the qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in business analysis, sales operations, business development support, reporting, analytics, or a related role.

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

About the work environment:

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

Compensation:

The expected salary for this role is approximately $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
