The Dixon Group is looking for a Sales Engineering Manager to join our team in Pewaukee, Wisconsin! As the Sales Engineering Manager you will lead a team of Sales Engineers supporting our diverse portfolio of industrial fluid transfer products and solutions. This individual will bridge the gap between customer application requirements and Dixon's engineered product offerings while driving technical sales excellence across multiple business units and market segments. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership skills, mechanical and industrial systems expertise, and a passion for helping customers solve complex application challenges.

What You'll Do:

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing Sales Engineering team.
  • Establish technical sales best practices, performance metrics, and professional development plans.
  • Foster a collaborative culture focused on customer success, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching on application engineering, product selection, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Partner with Regional Sales Managers, Territory Managers, and distributors to support revenue growth.
  • Lead technical support for strategic opportunities and key customer accounts.
  • Assist in qualifying opportunities and identifying application-specific solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance during customer visits, presentations, and product demonstrations.
  • Support complex specification reviews, RFQs, and engineered solution proposals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in fluid transfer systems, hose assemblies, couplings, valves, and related technologies.
  • Help customers optimize safety, reliability, uptime, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to develop solutions for unique customer challenges.
  • Support product selection and application design across Dixon's key markets, including chemical processing, food and beverage, oil and gas, transportation, fire protection, and maintenance operations.
  • Partner with Product Management to provide market intelligence and customer feedback.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering teams on product enhancements and special applications.
  • Support Marketing initiatives including technical content, webinars, trade shows, white papers, and training programs.
  • Facilitate seamless transitions from pre-sales support to customer implementation and ongoing support.
  • Develop KPIs and reporting metrics for the Sales Engineering function.
  • Improve technical sales processes, tools, and knowledge-sharing practices.
  • Monitor competitive offerings and industry trends.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across technical proposals and customer recommendations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, sales engineering, or industrial product solutions.
  • 3+ years of leadership or people management experience.
  • Strong understanding of industrial fluid transfer systems, piping systems, process equipment, valves, fittings, couplings, pumps, or related technologies.
  • Proven ability to support complex industrial sales opportunities.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into practical business solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting distributors and industrial channel partners.
  • Knowledge of industries such as chemical processing, food and beverage manufacturing, oil and gas, pharmaceutical manufacturing, transportation, or fire protection.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce.
  • Experience with engineered-to-order products and customer-specific solutions.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.
  • Business acumen
