This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer based in Canada.
This is a senior individual contributor opportunity focused on building the infrastructure, automation, and delivery practices that enable reliable software development and releases. You will work across both cloud-based and on-premise environments, helping design scalable and secure platforms for modern applications. The role combines infrastructure architecture, containerization, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and operational reliability. You will contribute to improving developer workflows while ensuring systems remain highly available, performant, and secure. The position offers significant technical ownership and the opportunity to influence strategic engineering initiatives. You will also mentor junior engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving technology environment.

Accountabilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of infrastructure automation and efficient software deployment processes.
- Architect, implement, and manage scalable containerization and orchestration solutions for applications.
- Drive improvements to continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, optimizing development and release workflows.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions to create consistent, repeatable, and reliable environments.
- Manage and improve both cloud-based and on-premise infrastructure, supporting evolving application and business requirements.
- Monitor system performance, availability, reliability, and security, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to improve automation, infrastructure architecture, and deployment strategies.
- Evaluate and apply modern DevOps and Platform Engineering practices to continuously improve development operations.
- Lead complex infrastructure projects and strategic initiatives, helping influence technical decisions across the organization.
- Mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance, sharing best practices, and supporting their professional development.
- Work with technologies including Azure, AKS, Kubernetes, OpenShift, GitLab, ArgoCD, Artifactory, and Ansible.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, IT infrastructure, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of modern DevOps and Platform Engineering practices, tools, and industry trends.
- Strong understanding of scripting, version control, infrastructure architecture, and infrastructure best practices.
- Advanced experience designing and implementing infrastructure automation and deployment solutions.
- Deep expertise in containerization and orchestration, particularly Kubernetes.
- Proven experience optimizing and scaling CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of system performance, reliability, availability, and security.
- Experience working with both cloud and on-premise infrastructure, or strong expertise in one environment combined with the curiosity and willingness to develop expertise in the other.
- Strong strategic thinking, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead complex technical projects, drive strategic initiatives, and influence engineering decisions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and cross-functional teams.
- Ability and willingness to mentor junior engineers and take ownership of technical initiatives.
