Full description

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Software Developer with strong experience in IEC 61850 communication protocol and Linux-based embedded systems development. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for industrial/energy automation products such as IEDs, protection relays, gateways, or SCADA systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for real-time systems.
  • Implement and integrate IEC 61850 protocols (MMS, GOOSE, SV).
  • Develop and optimize applications on embedded Linux platforms.
  • Work on communication stacks, networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP).
  • Perform system integration, debugging, and performance tuning.
  • Develop low-level drivers and middleware components as required.
  • Collaborate with hardware, system, and testing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC 61850, IEC 60870,MODEBUS etc.).
  • Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and test reports.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
  • Hands-on experience with IEC 61850 protocol stack development or integration.
  • Proficiency in Linux development (user space and/or kernel space).
  • Experience with embedded systems debugging tools (GDB, Wireshark, etc.).
  • Good understanding of networking concepts (Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLAN).
  • Knowledge of real-time systems and multi-threading.
  • Experience with build systems (Make, CMake, Yocto, Buildroot).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with substation automation systems or power systems domain.
  • Familiarity with IEC 104 / Modbus / DNP3 protocols.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity in industrial communication.
  • Exposure to RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr etc).
  • Experience with version control tools (Git, SVN).
  • Understanding of hardware interfaces (SPI, UART, I2C).
