The Application Security Manager oversees the Application Security team which manages multiple areas of Application Security including user and group setup, maintenance, removal, and review across the bank’s footprint. This position works with Application Owners, Internal and External Auditors, and others to ensure appropriate employee access is maintained. This position sets the direction for and provides guidance during the annual security review process.
This role should have knowledge and understanding of all relevant industry standards, concepts, trends, best practices, and innovation to lead and drive successful results.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer user access to enterprise applications in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Provision, modify, and deprovision user accounts based on approved access requests.
- Ensure user access aligns with the principle of least privilege and job responsibilities.
- Process employee onboarding, transfers, role changes, and terminations in a timely manner.
- Maintain application security roles, groups, and permission structures.
- Deliver efficient and productive application security operations, including technical and supervisory aspects.
- Administer Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms and related technologies.
- Support Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and federation services.
- Manage role-based access control (RBAC) models across enterprise applications.
- Assist in implementing automated provisioning and identity governance solutions.
- Partner with application owners to define appropriate security roles.
- Set direction and effectively manage the staff.
- Continuously access talent with the goal of building a best-in-class organization focused on a cohesive team that performs at maximum proficiency.
- Direct and prioritize resource management and workload of internal personnel, contractors, and other third-party vendors when applicable.
- Possess complete understanding the of the bank’s business concepts, including Bank products, services, policies, and procedures.
- Manage time effectively while setting the tone of the staff through leadership abilities.
- Ensure all processes utilized by staff are thoroughly documented, consistently reviewed / updated, and regularly improved. Continuously aim to gain efficiencies through process analysis.
- Research methodologies and technologies, which improve efficiency, integrity, and reliability of systems and functions as it pertains to application security within the organization.
- Ensure that all employees uphold the optimal service level standards. Establish individual and team goals and evaluate performance.
- Provide required direction and leadership of staff training activities to effectively carry out departmental responsibilities.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc. Complete required compliance training and adhere to the Bank’s standard of conduct.
- Build relationships with key business stakeholders to cultivate decision making that leads to strategic business advantages.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Participation in the bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections program.
- Make referrals to the Mortgage Center and Wealth Management.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 to 7 years of supervisor or management experience required
- Experience in technical environment preferred
- Technical, problem-solving, analytical skills
- General computer and typing experience with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Extensive reading as needed
- Extensive computer usage
- Ability to make difficult decisions and handle multiple tasks
- Available to be on call and work after hours as required
