Role summary:
The Senior Data Scientist leads the development of advanced machine learning solutions that power Search relevance, Personalization, and customer discovery experiences. This role independently drives complex modeling initiatives, partners across cross-functional teams, and delivers production-scale AI solutions that improve customer experience and business performance. About the team:
The Applied AI Search & Personalization team develops scalable AI systems that transform how millions of customers discover products. We build intelligent retrieval, ranking, recommendation, and personalization models while leveraging Generative AI to create next-generation shopping experiences. What you'll do:
- Design and deploy machine learning models for Search, Ranking, Recommendations, and Personalization.
- Apply deep learning, NLP, and Generative AI techniques to improve customer discovery.
- Lead experimentation using offline metrics and online A/B testing.
- Optimize model performance, scalability, and inference efficiency.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and Applied Scientists to define AI roadmaps.
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to engineering and modeling best practices.
- Drive production monitoring and continuous model improvements.
- Communicate technical recommendations to leadership and business stakeholders.
What you'll bring:
- Strong experience building production machine learning systems.
- Expertise in supervised learning, deep learning, feature engineering, and model optimization.
- Experience with Search, Recommendation Systems, Personalization, NLP, or Ranking is preferred.
- Strong Python, SQL, and distributed data processing experience.
- Familiarity with cloud-based ML platforms and MLOps.
- Experience designing experiments and interpreting business impact.
- Ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
