Job Title: Network Technical Writer / Infrastructure Documentation Specialist Job Location: Chandler, AZ (3 Days onsite, 2 Days work from home) hybrid role Job Type: 12 Months contract
Requirements*:
· Education: Bachelors or masters degree in any discipline.
· Experience Range: 4-6 years of relevant experience Technical Writer, Documentation Specialist, or similar role supporting network, infrastructure, or platform engineering teams.
· Foundational Skills*:
· Hands-on experience authoring and maintaining technical documentation using Atlassian Confluence as an enterprise knowledge management system.
· Proficient with Markdown and structured authoring concepts to support modular, automation-friendly documentation.
· Proven experience authoring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Operational runbooks, Patch, Readme and release notes, Troubleshooting and escalation guides
· Strong ability to translate engineering workflows into Step-based procedures, Decision logic, Preconditions, inputs, outputs, and validations
· Experience documenting API and admin-level workflows, enabling future automation and orchestration.
· Ability to structure SOPs so they are consumable by automation platforms, orchestration tools, and self-service workflows.
· Hands-on use of JIRA for requirements tracking, defect documentation, and change-driven updates.
· Proficiency in MS Visio for network diagrams, process flows, and operational workflow visualization.
· Ability to supplement SOPs with visuals that improve automation readiness and human execution consistency.
· Desired Skills*:
· Familiarity with enterprise SDLC and DDLC (Documentation Development Life Cycle) integration.
· Strong command of documentation standards and style guides, including:
· Microsoft Writing Style Guide (MSTP)
· Simplified Technical English (STE)
· Organization-specific documentation standards
· Expertise in plain English technical writing, information mapping, and clarity optimization.
