Job summary As a Planning Analytics Lead at JPMorgan Chase within the Planning & Analysis team, you will deliver end-to-end IBM Planning Analytics/TM1 solutions that support critical business functions. You will architect, build, and maintain models and processes, ensuring performance and scalability. You will foster a collaborative team environment, drive adoption of advanced engineering practices, and partner with business stakeholders to optimize planning processes.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of IBM Planning Analytics/TM1 solutions (requirements, design, build, test, deployment) on AWS
  • Architect and maintain TM1 models (dimensions, hierarchies, cubes, rules, feeders) for performance and scalability
  • Develop and maintain Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) and Perspectives/Architect artifacts: dashboards, books, views, forms, and reports
  • Build and manage TM1 processes/ETL (TI processes) and integrations with upstream/downstream systems
  • Establish governance for planning applications: security model, roles, auditability, change management, SDLC controls, documentation standards
  • Manage production support: monitoring, incident triage, root cause analysis, release planning, and continuous improvement
  • Lead and mentor a team of TM1 developers/analysts; set technical direction, conduct code reviews, and develop team capability
  • Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities
  • Partner with business owners to define planning processes and drive adoption, training, and communications
  • Ensure compliance with technology risk, data controls, and operational resiliency expectations

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 15+ years of experience delivering IBM Planning Analytics/TM1 solutions, with hands-on model build experience
  • Strong TM1 technical skills: cube design, rules/feeders, TurboIntegrator (TI), performance tuning, and security
  • Experience implementing planning use cases (Budget, Forecast, Workforce planning, CapEx, Revenue, Allocations, scenario modeling)
  • Proven ability to lead delivery in agile and/or waterfall environments; strong stakeholder management
  • Experience with data integration patterns (batch/near-real-time), data quality controls, and reconciliation practices
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
  • Excellent communication skills—able to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical audiences

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience with Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW), Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE), and/or Cognos Analytics integration
  • Exposure to IBM Cloud for Data / Planning Analytics on Cloud / containerized deployments
  • Strong python skills & Familiarity with CI/CD for analytics applications, automated testing, and release orchestration
  • Prior people management experience (hiring, performance management, coaching)
  • Finance domain experience (FP&A, close/GL, management reporting) strongly preferred
