Technical Product Manager – AI (Vice President)

Role Summary

The Technical Product Manager, AI is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering AI-powered products and platforms that drive measurable business outcomes while meeting enterprise standards for risk, governance, security, and compliance. The role serves as the bridge between business strategy, engineering execution, enterprise architecture, and AI capabilities.  

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define AI success metrics aligning with AI Strategy
  • Identify and prioritize AI use cases based on business value, feasibility, data readiness, risk, and strategic alignment.
  • Develop business cases and investment proposals for AI initiatives.
  • Manage product lifecycle from ideation through production and adoption.  

Technical Product Leadership

  • Translate business needs into product requirements, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with AI engineers, architects, data scientists, platform teams, and cybersecurity teams to deliver AI solutions.
  • Drive technical decisions regarding AI platforms, LLMs, RAG, agents, model selection, and integration patterns.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, observability, and operational readiness of AI products.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary interface between business stakeholders, technology teams, risk, legal, compliance, and operations.
  • Lead cross-functional product planning and prioritization.
  • Present roadmap progress, risks, and value realization to executive leadership.

Governance & Risk

  • Ensure AI products meet Responsible AI, Model Risk, Privacy, Security, and Regulatory requirements.
  • Incorporate human oversight, explainability, auditability, and governance controls into product design.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Adoption & Value Realization

  • Define KPIs and success measures.
  • Track adoption, productivity gains, risk reduction, cycle-time improvements, and operational efficiency metrics.
  • Drive change management, training, and stakeholder engagement to maximize business value.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 8-12+ years of experience in Product Management, Technology Strategy, Digital Transformation, Enterprise Platforms, or AI/ML-related initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise-scale technology products.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments such as financial services, banking, insurance, or healthcare preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional programs involving business and technology stakeholders

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of:• Generative AI
  • Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Agentic AI
  • AI Platforms and LLMOps
  • Data Products and APIs
  • Ability to evaluate AI architectures, vendor offerings, and implementation approaches.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), AI governance, data governance, and enterprise integration patterns

Leadership Skills

  • Executive communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and prioritization capability.
  • Ability to align multiple business units around a common roadmap.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills in ambiguous environments.

Success Measures

The VP, Technical Product Manager AI will be measured on:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience

The typical base pay range for this role is as follows:

  • New York / New Jersey: $149-205K
  • Non–New York / New Jersey: $149-188K

depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
