The Data Engineer interprets business needs, develops data pipelines, supports data infrastructure, collaborates with teams, and provides Tier 3 technical support, with a focus on AWS cloud services and data governance.
Required Qualifications• Active Top-Secret/SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks and cloud environments
- Proficiency in Python, AWS Lambda, and data stores like PostgreSQL, S3, Redshift, MongoDB/DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, SQL
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and Agile development
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
Preferred Qualifications• Master’s degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of cloud message APIs, push notifications, and DevOps environments
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming, scripting, and databases
Key Responsibilities• Identify, design, and implement process improvements and infrastructure redesigns for scalability
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and artifacts such as schemas and data dictionaries
- Integrate data pipelines with AWS cloud services to extract insights
- Support stakeholders' data infrastructure needs and troubleshoot technical issues
- Provide Tier 3 support for deployed applications and dataflows
Location: Washington, DC/ Hybrid 2 or 3 days onsite
