With your experience across cloud and on-premise infrastructure and your hands-on mentality, you will design, implement and optimize hybrid architectures that are scalable, resilient and aligned with our business goals. You will ensure that our infrastructure — from the data center to the cloud — is agile, secure and cost-effective, enabling us to innovate and stay ahead in the digital age.

Hybrid working: up to 95% remote possible; 5% on-site in Düsseldorf/Arnsberg required

Your Tasks

• You design and deploy enterprise-level cloud and on-premise architectures on Microsoft Azure and our virtualized data center (VMware/vSphere, Proxmox) to support us in our digital transformation by advancing the implementation of our WEPA.cloud

• You translate business requirements into hybrid infrastructure solutions, ensuring they align with the company's objectives and IT strategy by collaborating in an agile setting with IT, development, and business teams

• You lead initiatives to optimize infrastructure cost, performance, and security across both cloud and on-premise environments

• You architect and maintain the integration between on-premises infrastructure (virtualization, storage, networking) and Azure services, ensuring seamless hybrid connectivity

• You design and evolve our virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Proxmox), including compute, storage, and disaster recovery strategy

• You stay updated with Azure's latest offerings as well as developments in virtualization and system architecture, leveraging them to drive innovation and efficiency

• You develop and implement cloud and infrastructure governance, best practices, and standards, and mentor teams on Azure and on-premise system architecture

• You work on a broad variety of digital technology projects (including Industry 4.0, Robotic Process Automation, etc.)

Your Profile

• Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Personality: Ability to work in a team, flexibility, motivation

• Working: Independent, team-oriented and structured work

• Experience and Know-how:

• At least 10 years of hands-on experience in cloud and system architecture, with a focus on Microsoft Azure and enterprise virtualization platforms

• Solid hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, Proxmox, and on-premise infrastructure design (compute, storage, networking)

• Demonstrated success in designing and implementing large-scale hybrid cloud and on-premise solutions

• Azure certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, are highly desirable; VMware certifications (e.g., VCP) are a plus

• Strong proponent of agile methodologies and practices

• Ability to translate business needs into actionable cloud and infrastructure solutions

• Languages: Very good English skills.
