Job Title: Graphic Designer (Digital Print, Artwork & Pre-Press) Location: Coppell, TX-onsite Job Type: Hourly Consultant Hours: Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm (32 to 40 hours a week) Pay: Up to $27.19/hr

Essential Functions:

  • Create, edit, revise, optimize, and prepare artwork for digital and print production while adhering to customer requirements and established brand standards.
  • Develop layouts, collateral materials, forms, and visual communications for digital and print applications.
  • Produce accurate artwork, typesetting, document formatting, layouts, and impositions for professional publication and reproduction.
  • Prepare and inspect files for print readiness, including fonts, image resolution, color settings, registration, and technical specifications.
  • Perform color management, color correction, trapping, image editing, and other pre-press functions to optimize print quality.
  • Apply knowledge of digital and lithographic printing processes and production limitations.
  • Review digital proofs and perform quality checks before releasing files to production.
  • Re-engineer documents as needed for migration from offset to digital print environments.
  • Serve as a point of contact for design requests, job intake, project communications, and customer inquiries.
  • Partner with customers, internal teams, external design resources, print suppliers, and production partners to ensure projects are delivered accurately and on schedule.
  • Track projects through workflow management systems and Excel documents, monitoring deadlines, production requirements, and delivery schedules.
  • Archive, store, back up, and manage digital assets and files within designated SharePoint sites.
  • Maintain accurate electronic file management and documentation practices.
  • Perform quality inspections before, during, and after production.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, brand standards, audit requirements, copyright, data protection, security, and document management requirements.
  • No AI tools may be used in the performance of this role.
  • Stay current with industry trends, design practices, print technologies, and pre-press best practices.

Skills:

  • Strong graphic design, visual communication, typography, layout, and typesetting skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and graphic design software.
  • Strong understanding of digital print, pre-press, color management, and print production processes.
  • Ability to prepare production-ready files and identify technical issues before production.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to interpret and apply corporate and client branding guidelines.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

Experience:

  • 2–5 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably with digital print and pre-press experience.
  • Experience preparing artwork for print production and managing pre-press workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining and applying client brand standards.
  • Experience managing projects from design and proofing through production and delivery.
  • Experience with project management or enterprise work management applications, such as Adobe Workfront, preferred.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is advantageous.
  • Professional portfolio demonstrating both creative design and technical production capabilities.

Education:

  • Associate degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, School of Arts, or a related discipline required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Arts, or a related field preferred.
  • Additional training in graphic arts, template creation, print technology, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
