The Technical Construction Project Manager will manage EV charging and electrical-infrastructure projects from site assessment through design, permitting, construction, utility energization, commissioning, and closeout. This role requires strong construction-management experience and practical knowledge of commercial electrical systems. An electrical engineering or related technical background is preferred; substantial EV charging or electrical-construction experience may substitute.

This is not a fully remote position. Candidates must reside in the Greater Los Angeles area and be available for frequent site visits throughout Southern California, with occasional travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site walks and evaluate electrical, civil, utility, accessibility, equipment-placement, and constructability conditions.
  • Manage multiple EV charging/electrical projects from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout.
  • Review construction drawings, electrical single-line diagrams, equipment schedules, and specifications for scope, coordination, and constructability.
  • Coordinate electrical, civil, structural, utility, communications, and charging-equipment requirements.
  • Manage utility applications, service upgrades, transformers, permitting, inspections, meter installation, and energization.
  • Develop scopes of work, RFPs, bid packages, and contractor pricing requests.
  • Support contractor qualification, bid leveling, selection, negotiation, and onboarding.
  • Oversee contractors, consultants, suppliers, and commissioning teams.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, risks, RFIs, submittals, invoices, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Conduct field inspections for progress, quality, safety, code compliance, and consistency with approved plans.
  • Resolve field conflicts, design discrepancies, utility delays, equipment issues, and commissioning blockers.
  • Coordinate charger installation, network activation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage punch lists, as-builts, warranties, inspection records, test reports, and closeout packages.
  • Report project costs, schedules, risks, milestones, and outstanding decisions.
  • Help standardize DynaChrg construction and project-delivery processes.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of construction or technical infrastructure project-management experience.
  • Experience with electrical, EV charging, utility, renewable-energy, telecom, or similar infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing projects from design/preconstruction through construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, electrical single-line diagrams, specifications, and technical scopes.
  • Working knowledge of commercial electrical distribution, including transformers, switchgear, panels, breakers, feeders, conduit, grounding, and metering.
  • Experience coordinating utilities, AHJs, engineers, contractors, inspectors, and suppliers.
  • Experience managing bids, RFIs, submittals, schedules, budgets, invoices, change orders, and closeout documentation.
  • Strong field problem-solving, organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must reside in Greater Los Angeles or relocate before starting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Level 2 or DC fast-charging project experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, civil engineering, or related field; substantial relevant experience may substitute.
  • Experience with charging hubs, fleets, dealerships, multifamily, commercial, or public-sector projects.
  • Knowledge of utility service upgrades, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, load calculations, and single-line diagrams.
  • Familiarity with charger commissioning, OCPP, charging networks, energy management, battery storage, solar, or microgrids.
  • Knowledge of California permitting, accessibility, EVITP, prevailing-wage, rebate, or grant-funded requirements.
  • PMP, CCM, EIT, PE, OSHA 30, EVITP, or similar certification.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Salesforce, Asana, Sitetracker, or similar platforms.

Role Clarification

This role reviews electrical designs for scope, coordination, constructability, and field execution. It does not stamp engineering drawings unless the candidate is appropriately licensed and that responsibility is separately assigned
