Position Overview Rockport Commercial Inc. is experiencing substantial growth. To support a major influx of new projects coming up our development pipeline, we are looking for a strategic Project Manager to join our expanding construction management division. You will work alongside our current Project Manager and coordinate directly with our field team of active Site Supervisors to deliver premier multi-family and commercial developments across Winnipeg.

Because Rockport self-performs nearly all major scopes—encompassing Excavation, Concrete, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Drywall, and Labourers—our project management style is deeply collaborative. Rather than simply managing third-party contracts, you will manage internal budgets and build macro schedules in close consultation with our division Trade Managers.

Why Work with Rockport? (Company Perks)

• Consistent, Year-Round Work: Rockport delivers job stability. Our robust project pipeline and self-perform capability ensure steady, year-round work without the seasonal dips common in the construction industry.

• Strong Pipeline & Collaborative Culture: Step into a role with immediate project ownership, backed by an existing PM peer and a growing field operations team.

  • Comprehensive health and vision benefits package.
  • Competitive salary and professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Macro Scheduling & Resource Planning: Build and manage master schedules using MS Project, working directly with internal Trade Managers to forecast and secure labor capacity for active Winnipeg builds.

• Financial Oversight: Manage total project budgets, tracking internal trade division costs, material procurement, and external subcontractor contracts.

• Inter-Divisional Alignment: Act as the primary bridge between the Rockport development arm  (Architect), external consultants (engineers), and our internal Trade Managers.

• Operations Leadership: Chair regular project meetings with Trade Managers to review production rates, clear administrative bottlenecks, and mitigate risks.

• Permitting & Compliance: Navigate City of Winnipeg building permits, zoning bylaws, and occupancy processes to ensure projects advance smoothly.

• Contract Administration: Issue and manage scopes of work for specialized external trades that fall outside our internal capabilities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (PMP or Gold Seal certification is a major asset).
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in multi-family residential or commercial construction.
  • Experience working within a self-performing or vertically integrated builder environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience tracking complex labor budgets and material costs across civil, structural, and MEP divisions.

• Advanced, proven proficiency with MS Project for building and maintaining master construction schedules.
