Overview
Sr. Content Strategist & Engagement Writer
How you can make a difference
We're looking for a Content Strategist & Engagement Writer to join our Digital Experience team and help shape how we educate, engage, and motivate members to get more value from their healthcare and financial benefits.
This role will develop content experiences that turn complex topics—such as HSAs, FSAs, investing, saving, and healthcare benefits—into clear, approachable, and actionable guidance. You'll create everything from long-form educational content and guided learning experiences to behavioral nudges and lifecycle communications designed to help members take meaningful next steps.
The ideal candidate combines exceptional writing and storytelling with expertise in behavior change, engagement strategy, and digital education. You'll think beyond individual pieces of content to design connected experiences that build knowledge over time, encourage action, and help members develop behaviors that improve their financial and healthcare outcomes.
Success in this role means creating content that members understand, engage with, learn from, and ultimately act on.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop clear, engaging educational content about HSAs, FSAs, investing, saving, financial wellness, healthcare benefits, and related topics.
- Translate complex financial and healthcare concepts into approachable, actionable content for audiences with varying levels of knowledge and confidence.
- Design guided learning experiences that organize education into structured journeys, modules, challenges, or other progressive formats that help members build knowledge over time.
- Apply behavioral science, behavioral economics, and engagement principles to create content that motivates action, reinforces positive behaviors, and helps members progress toward meaningful goals.
- Create contextual nudges and lifecycle communications across mobile, web, email, SMS, push notifications, and other digital channels.
- Develop content strategies that connect education with relevant moments in the member journey, helping members understand not only what they can do, but why it matters and what to do next.
- Explore engaging approaches to learning—including interactive content, progress-based experiences, challenges, and gamification—to make complex topics easier and more rewarding to consume.
- Partner with UX, Research, Product, Marketing, Analytics, and subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate, relevant, engaging, and grounded in member needs.
- Build and maintain a scalable educational content library and reusable content frameworks that can support experiences across products and channels.
- Use member research, engagement analytics, and experimentation to understand what resonates, measure content effectiveness, and continuously improve engagement and behavioral outcomes.
- Leverage AI-assisted writing and research tools to accelerate content development and exploration while maintaining accuracy, quality, and a consistent member voice
What you will need to be successful
- 5+ years of experience in content strategy, content writing, digital education, engagement content, UX content, or a related discipline.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, including experience creating both long-form educational content and concise engagement messaging.
- Demonstrated experience applying behavior change, behavioral science, behavioral economics, or engagement principles to content or digital experiences.
- Experience designing educational content or learning experiences that help audiences understand complex topics and take action.
- Experience developing personalized content strategies across multiple channels and stages of a customer or member journey.
- Ability to translate complex financial, healthcare, or other regulated topics into clear, approachable, and actionable content.
- Experience using A/B testing, experimentation, analytics, or other measurement approaches to evaluate content effectiveness and optimize engagement.
- Experience in healthcare, fintech, financial services, benefits, wellness, education, or another behavior and education-focused consumer environment is highly valued.
