The opportunity
This position will be based in the El Salvador office, reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, IT Applications, Distribution, under the VP, IT Global DevOps.
The Business Analyst, IT Applications will work closely with their IT Distribution BA colleagues to support business resources in the head office and global distribution centers. The mandate will include documenting, resolve production issues, participate in developing solutions, testing and implementing projects or initiatives.
This position has a strong IT aspect but is not limited only to IT projects; therefore, the selected candidate may also be involved, in a support role, in the reengineering or design of business processes.
The role
- Gather and analyze requirements from Distribution stakeholders to design and propose effective warehouse Management System solutions that align with business objectives.
- Assist users in understanding and utilizing business application software, primarily the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and JD Edwards (JDE).
- Design and document Warehouse Management solutions, focusing on usability and optimization of Distribution processes.
- Conduct thorough system testing to ensure functionality, accuracy, and efficiency prior to deployment.
- Develop training materials and conduct training on the business of new functionalities
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for our Warehouse Management system, including troubleshooting issues and implementing updates.
- Participate and collaborate with other IT teams and Business stakeholders in business initiatives and larger-scale projects
- Provide production support to all our Distribution Centers in general, including participation in our on-call support schedule.
The requirements
- University degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics, or an equivalent field.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a distribution environment with inventory control/management is required; experience in supply chain and logistics is considered an asset.
- 2 to 5 years of experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS), preferably Manhattan.
- 2 to 5 years of experience with JD Edwards, preferably in distribution modules; relevant experience with other ERP systems may also be considered.
- Knowledge of any variation of SQL is a must.
- Experience designing and delivering training programs.
- Strong systems and process orientation with highly developed analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; knowledge of French and Spanish is considered an asset.
- French/English bilingualism (spoken and written).
- This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English.
