Sector Data and Insights Analyst Fixed Term Contract (23 months), Full Time: 35 hours per week Salary: £48,000 - £58,000 + Benefits (depending on experience) Home based in England, Scotland or Wales with occasional travel

We are looking for a Sector Data and Insights Analyst to help unlock the power of data across the engineering and manufacturing sector. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys turning complex information into meaningful insight, helping organisations make informed decisions, identify opportunities and respond to emerging challenges. Working closely with colleagues across Enginuity Charity, you will play a key role in developing data products, analysing sector trends and providing intelligence that supports strategic decision-making.

About the role

The Sector Data and Insights Analyst will support Enginuity to unleash the power of sector data by providing actionable data analysis and market intelligence through the development of BI dashboards to support the Engineering and Manufacturing sector to make informed decisions, stay competitive, lobby for change and achieve strategic objectives. Focused on the Engineering and Manufacturing sector you will collect, analyse and interpret data to provide insights on market trends, sector performance, workforce needs, productivity, skills gaps and emerging opportunities.

You will analyse and monitor complex sector data within PowerBI, produce ad hoc data and reports and collaborate with teams across the organisation to deliver tailored insights. Working closely with the BI team, you will support the development of data solutions, ensure data quality and compliance standards are maintained and help integrate data from multiple sources. You will also contribute to the development of AI capabilities and commercial data products.

About you

You will bring excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to build and maintain positive effective relationships across all levels of the business. You will be skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams), with excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

You will have strong problem-solving abilities, excellent attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to rapidly understand and interpret data in new or complex contexts, delivering clear, relevant and high-impact insights. Experience with SQL, PowerBI/DAX, ETL/ELT, Tableau/Qlik and other relevant Business Intelligence tools is essential.

Experience or qualifications in business intelligence tools, knowledge of the training and skills sector, understanding of the engineering and manufacturing landscape, experience taking a data product to market, and experience of applying AI techniques within data products would be advantageous in this role.
