What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a curious and self-motivated Data Analyst who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys solving complex, open-ended problems. The ideal candidate has solid SQL and Python skills, experience working with large datasets, and the confidence to engage directly with stakeholders, translating business challenges into robust analytical solutions. You'll be comfortable balancing technical delivery, data engineering, and analytical consulting in a fast-paced maritime and geospatial data environment.

A full-time permanent role

The role

  • Translate complex and ambiguous business questions into analytical solutions.
  • Analyze large maritime and geospatial datasets, including AIS data.
  • Develop queries, pipelines, and analytical workflows using SQL, Python, and PySpark.
  • Apply statistical and exploratory analysis techniques to identify insights and trends.
  • Build reports, dashboards, data extracts, and web applications to support decision-making.
  • Create maps, spatial visualizations, routing analyses, and network studies.
  • Build and maintain scalable datasets and pipelines within Databricks.
  • Improve data quality, performance, automation, and repeatability of analyses.
  • Collaborate directly with stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate findings.
  • Clearly articulate assumptions, limitations, and business implications of analyses.

What you bring

  • Experience solving complex problems and defining analytical approaches on your own.
  • Solid SQL skills with experience performing in-depth data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and data engineering.
  • Experience working with large datasets in analytical or production environments.
  • Comfort working with incomplete requirements and evolving business needs.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience using version control and collaborative development practices.
  • Degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • Advanced analytical thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

  • Databricks, or another Spark-based platform.
  • Azure, or comparable cloud data platform experience.
  • Geospatial analysis: Python libraries, PostGIS, or QGIS.
  • Domain background in maritime, or an adjacent asset-heavy or logistics sector such as aviation, automotive, rail, or freight.
