Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Shopfloor Integration & Collaboration
- Work closely with manufacturing shopfloor teams, automation engineers, and IT/Digital teams to implement OT solutions.
- Support integration of machines, PLCs, sensors, and industrial equipment with digital platforms and cloud applications.
- Act as a bridge between OT and IT teams to ensure smooth data flow between shopfloor systems and enterprise applications.
- Industry 4.0 & IoT Implementation
- Deploy Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions to enable real-time data collection and monitoring.
- Configure and integrate machine connectivity protocols (e.g., OPC-UA, Modbus, MQTT, Ethernet/IP).
- Support machine connectivity initiatives to enable predictive maintenance, production monitoring, and analytics.
- Solution Design & Development
- Design and develop proof-of-concept (POC) solutions for new automation and IoT use cases.
- Assist in scaling validated POCs into full production implementations across manufacturing facilities.
- Develop scripts, configurations, or middleware components required for data acquisition and integration.
- Automation & ISA-95 Architecture Support
- Ensure solutions align with the ISA-95 automation hierarchy (Level 0–4).
- Support integration between shopfloor systems (PLCs, SCADA, HMI) and enterprise systems such as MES, historians, and cloud platforms.
- Maintain and troubleshoot automation systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Troubleshooting & Operational Support
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to machine connectivity, automation systems, and industrial networks.
- Provide ongoing support for deployed OT solutions and ensure proper documentation.
- Assist in system upgrades, commissioning, and validation of automation systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- Understanding of manufacturing systems such as MES
- Ability to troubleshoot industrial networks and machine connectivity issues
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
- Hands-on experience Raspberry pi, PLCs and automation component.
- Expertise in firmware using Python/Flask.
- Collaborate with other teams to support POCs and global roll out for IOT initiatives.
- Good understanding of PLCs, its configurations, communication protocols i.e. Modbus, OPC UA
- Knowledge about industrial sensors and control equipment.
- Good understanding of communication protocols with cloud i.e. MQTT, HTTPs, FTP etc.
- Responsible for unstructured tasks, issues addressed may be less defined requiring new perspectives, creative approaches and with more interdependencies
- Strong cross-functional coordination and leadership skills.
- Deep understanding of customer and business needs.
- Experience in documenting requirements and maintaining requirement documents.
