About The Role
As part of our continued growth across Europe, BYD is seeking a dynamic, solutions-oriented Technical Support Engineer to strengthen our Aftersales technical operations in Sweden. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of supporting our dealer network and ensuring a high standard of service performance and customer satisfaction across the region.
You will work closely with our partners to identify technical challenges, provide expert-level guidance, and enhance regional service capabilities. Acting as a key interface between BYD headquarters and our local service network, you will contribute to technical training, product launch support, and quality issue resolution in alignment with our NEV product standards.
Role Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical contact for the Swedish dealer network, ensuring timely and effective resolution of service issues via remote diagnostics, service portals, and on-site support.
- Drive the continuous improvement of regional technical capabilities through regular dealer visits, workshops, and collaborative activities with regional and central stakeholders.
- Support and identify targeted technical training programs, including new model launches, certification-level training, and on-the-job coaching, in coordination with training teams and other relevant departments.
- Collect and analyze data on recurring, critical, or emerging product issues; contribute to root cause analysis, promote corrective actions, and support preventive technical communications.
- Prepare and release technical bulletins, repair case studies, and diagnostic guidelines to support standardization and knowledge sharing across the network.
- Lead and manage regional product risk cases with fast and effective troubleshooting, leveraging both field investigations and HQ collaboration to safeguard product reliability.
- Support the implementation of quality and technical standards, ensuring alignment with BYD Aftersales strategy and Swedish regulatory requirements.
- Support internal cross-functional initiatives involving quality, warranty, training, and customer experience improvement.
- Travel regularly across the country and occasionally within Europe to provide on-site support and build strong relationships with dealer partners.
Essential Criteria & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, automotive technology, or related fields or same skills gained from work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in technical support in the automotive or NEV industry.
- Fluent in Swedish and English (spoken and written); Mandarin is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills; able to collaborate across teams and regions.
- Strong diagnostic and analytical thinking with a proactive problem-solving mind-set.
- Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently across Sweden and Europe.
- Must hold a valid EU driver’s license and be eligible to work in the EU.
