Position Summary:
The Engineering Project Manager, Product Development is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing product development initiatives for the EPIK platform from concept through production release. This role works closely with engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, operations, and product management to deliver high-quality hardware and software solutions on schedule.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with excellent project management skills and is comfortable leading cross-functional engineering efforts, analyzing product performance, improving development processes, and supporting product validation throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering projects from requirements through production release while ensuring delivery milestones, schedules, and quality objectives are achieved.
- Plan and coordinate new product features, enhancements, firmware releases, and engineering change initiatives.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), resource plans, roadmaps, and release timelines using Jira, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools.
- Coordinate activities across software, firmware, hardware, quality assurance, manufacturing, and operations teams.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, manage dependencies, and escalate issues that could impact delivery schedules.
- Support product roadmap planning using engineering capacity, delivery metrics, and historical project performance.
- Analyze engineering KPIs, operational metrics, and validation data to identify process bottlenecks and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize EPIK API endpoints through Postman or similar API tools for reporting, project validation, workflow automation, and engineering analysis.
- Coordinate firmware validation, release readiness, and production deployment activities.
- Perform root cause analysis on product quality, engineering, manufacturing, and release issues while coordinating corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, validation procedures, release documentation, and project records.
- Support quality assurance activities by coordinating product validation, functional testing, regression testing, and release verification.
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with internal quality standards and product release requirements.
- Support manufacturing readiness, product lifecycle management, and engineering change processes.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to engineering workflows using automation and AI-assisted productivity tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Two or more years of experience in engineering project management, product development, technical program management, or a related engineering role. A Master's degree may be substituted where appropriate.
- Experience planning and managing engineering projects from concept through production release.
- Experience developing project schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), resource plans, and engineering timelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with REST APIs and API testing tools such as Postman.
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in hardware and software product development.
- Experience with firmware release planning and product validation.
- Experience using Jira, Microsoft Project, or other Agile project management tools.
- Experience with Quality Assurance, product validation, and testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) processes.
- Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering change management, and new product introduction (NPI).
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools and workflow automation technologies.
