Primary Job Duties

The IT Business Analyst plays a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of software applications to improve the business processes at SkyWest. Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Job shadow business partners to identify and document existing business processes
  • Work with business partners and software engineers to come up with software solutions
  • Design user interface for a custom in-house application
  • Document requirements for software engineers
  • Present software solutions for business partner approval
  • Assist software engineers during development and integration testing
  • Work with business partners during user acceptance testing, manual writing, and implementation as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid, unrestricted state-issued driver's license
  • Pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Visio
  • Understanding of business process documentation methods
  • Come up with software solutions to assist business processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Present to business partners, vendors, and technical staff
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle
  • Multi-task and work under time pressures and project deadlines
  • Aviation experience preferred

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Sitting at a computer for extended periods
  • This is not a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position.
