Job Description

The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Construction Project Manager for immediate employment in Tyler, Texas. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in the Construction Engineering and Management industry and have a proven track record of major successful projects for TxDOT and local agencies.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides technical direction and guidance to staff and subordinate engineers/inspectors, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
  • Pursue CEI contracts with TxDOT and other clients. 
  • Complete Business Development functions including but not limited to; prepositioning, developing teams, writing technical proposals, and coordinating with other AECOM staff.
  • Deliver CE contracts for TxDOT and other clients and serve as the Project Manager/Resident Engineer.
  • Supervises field staff, coordinates field activities, and provides project progress reports to the Client
  • Prepares and manages quality and safety plans for the project
  • Develop and execute significant project pursuits and delivery
  • Formulate and execute project opportunity capture strategies, including teaming and positioning for major pursuits, helping in proposal efforts and identification of required staff resources to win and effectively deliver projects
  • Establish relationships with external clients and customers, including industry associations and other potential consultant team members and construction contractors
  • Be a visible leader and trusted advisor to clients by promoting AECOM’s values both internally and externally

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Texas
  • Valid Driver’s License required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 + years of resident engineering experience managing major roadway and bridge construction projects
  • Experience in client prepositioning activities, team (internal and external partners) and proposal development
