This position is remote and supports a US-based company. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in their country of residence within Latin America (LATAM).

Role summary

We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer with hands-on Shopify experience to develop, maintain, and enhance web and e-commerce solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong WordPress development capabilities combined with practical experience working within the Shopify ecosystem. This role requires someone comfortable working across website functionality, customization, integrations, troubleshooting, and ongoing platform improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance websites using WordPress.
  • Customize WordPress themes, templates, plugins, and site functionality according to business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Shopify e-commerce functionality and storefront experiences.
  • Customize Shopify themes and configurations to meet business and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across WordPress and Shopify environments.
  • Implement responsive, user-friendly web experiences across desktop and mobile devices.
  • Integrate third-party applications, plugins, APIs, and external services with WordPress and Shopify.
  • Optimize websites for performance, reliability, usability, and maintainability.
  • Implement website updates while minimizing impact to existing functionality.
  • Test website changes across browsers and devices before production deployment.
  • Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and integration problems.
  • Collaborate with design, marketing, product, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Maintain clean, reusable, and well-documented code.
  • Follow web development, security, version control, and deployment best practices.

Requirements – Must-haves

  • Strong professional experience with WordPress development.
  • Hands-on professional experience with Shopify.
  • Experience developing and customizing WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Experience customizing Shopify storefronts and themes.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience troubleshooting WordPress and Shopify websites.
  • Experience integrating third-party plugins, applications, or services.
  • Understanding of responsive web development and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Understanding of web performance and optimization best practices.
  • Familiarity with website security and maintenance best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to independently manage development tasks and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves (optional)

  • Experience with PHP and custom WordPress development.
  • Experience with Shopify Liquid.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs or other third-party APIs.
  • Experience with WooCommerce.
  • Experience with Git and version control workflows.
  • Experience with e-commerce payment, checkout, shipping, or inventory integrations.
  • Familiarity with SEO and web accessibility best practices.
  • Experience supporting high-traffic or production e-commerce websites.
