Pay Transparency: Our salary ranges are structured to provide opportunities for growth and advancement within a role. As a result, most new hires are placed between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on qualifications and experience, while the top of the range is generally reserved for employees who have demonstrated sustained expertise and performance in the position. The anticipated pay for new hires entering as a BSA II is between $70,700 and $84,900. The full pay range is $70,700 to $99,000. The anticipated pay for new hires entering as a Sr. BSA is between $87,000 and $99,000. The full pay range is $87,000 to $131,000. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications, and company tenure & equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.

This is a multi-level position with increasing levels of responsibility and requirements at the Senior level.

Business Systems Analyst II Overview:

Performs systems analysis and provides support and guidance to end-users for company applications and administration systems. Acts as a liaison between internal business staff, IT technical teams and vendors to evaluate business needs and drive system solutions to support business strategies and objectives.

Essential Duties:

  • Follows an established requirements gathering process to identify requirements
  • Conducts thorough research and analysis to validate business needs, objectives and opportunities
  • Communicates requirements to the development teams through the use of specifications, statements of work, project plans, or other forms of documentation
  • Works closely with internal business staff, IT developers/architects/technical experts and system vendors to translate business requirements into IT-based solutions
  • Coordinates development work with system vendor and/or IT developers/architects/technical experts to ensure appropriate system configuration
  • Performs testing to ensure optimal system configuration and performance. Coordinates with developers, quality assurance teams, and users to test processes and ensure functionality and user acceptance.
  • Provides support and guidance to end-users on company application functionality and capabilities
  • Performs root cause analysis of issues, identifies and recommends workable solutions to application and systems problems
  • Works with system vendors and/or IT technical team as needed to escalate and resolve complex issues, deliver system enhancements and support the application
  • Coordinates project activities including requirements gathering, configurations, testing, training and go live support. Maintains project files and provides status updates.
  • Develops user documentation and training materials and may facilitate training on company applications and systems
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of all business system analysis tools, processes, methodologies and standards for business requirements information gathering, analysis and documentation
  • Understanding of application design and system configuration
  • Understanding of project management methodologies
  • Basic understanding of SQL for extracting and analyzing data and troubleshooting issues
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as meeting facilitation skills
  • Ability to effectively convey complex and detailed technical information
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to develop skills in multiple technical environments and grasp business processes
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal partners and vendors

Business System Analyst II Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years’ programming, systems analysis, or business analysis experience, equivalent work experience and/or demonstrated competency.

Sr. Business Systems Analyst Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, equivalent work experience or demonstrated competency.
  • 4-6 years' programming, systems analysis, or business analysis experience, equivalent work experience and/or demonstrated competency.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • LOMA courses; Master’s degree
  • Experience with process mapping/process documentation
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving experience
  • Configuration experience with Enterprise applications
  • Vast knowledge of insurance
  • Programming or SQL Experience
