The Market Data Site Reliability and Engineering maintain systems and applications that disseminate market and internally generated data throughout the firm. The focus is on maintaining highly available systems that can process & distribute large quantities of data with very low latency. These systems carry real-time data such as stock prices, index values, option prices, Fixed Income and FX instruments. The role involves not only maintaining the real-time data distribution platforms but also referential, historical, time series data and firm contributions.

This position is within the Market Data Distribution Platform Integration and Engineering role. The person will be part of a global team of engineer level resources who will be responsible for much of the day to day running of the market data plant including the production management of the software developed by the global development teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and optimize global market data distribution platforms with a focus on high availability, low latency, and system stability.
  • Configure and support real-time market data environments across global infrastructures.
  • Monitor platform performance, capacity, and availability, ensuring readiness for changes in market volatility and trading volumes.
  • Troubleshoot complex production incidents and perform root cause analysis to identify and eliminate recurring issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams to test, validate, and deploy new software releases and platform enhancements.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and business users to implement market data distribution requirements.
  • Manage system upgrades, security patches, operating system maintenance, and platform hygiene activities.
  • Support market data feed migrations and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and operational tools to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across monitoring, automation, security, and operational processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix operating systems in a production environment.
  • Good scripting skills using Shell (Bash/Korn Shell) and/or Python.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, networking fundamentals, and distributed systems.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability production platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues under pressure.
  • Experience with system monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
