Responsibilities
- Assist corporations and organizations in evaluating and optimizing their capital position.
- Support the execution of financing mandates, including debt, equity, or hybrid solutions, for organic growth, refinancing, mergers and acquisitions, management buyouts, and other strategic transactions.
- Assist in coordinating project logistics, timelines, and stakeholder communications.
- Build and prepare financial analyses, projections, forecasts, and financial models.
- Identify competitive issues and performance indicators at both the macro and micro levels within target markets.
- Conduct research on market and industry trends and develop strategic insights, thematic observations, and key conclusions.
- Design and develop high quality deliverables, including engagement letters, reports, presentations, correspondence, and templates.
- Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients while ensuring client needs are met and relationships continue to grow and develop.
- Support engagement teams in delivering high quality client service and responding to client requests.
- Assist with business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and marketing materials.
- Manage internal deal administration and support client acquisition processes and tracking.
- Regularly update business unit performance metrics, including populating and maintaining internal databases, CRM’s, and revenue forecasting tools.
- Support the management of virtual data rooms and diligence requests from lenders, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare confidential information memorandums, lender presentations, management presentations, teasers, and process letters.
- Conduct capital provider, company, market, and industry research to support client engagements.
- Work collaboratively with the client engagement team.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field (required).
- CFA, CPA, CBV, CMC, CSC, or a similar professional designation, or progress toward obtaining one, is considered an asset.
- Exempt Market Dealer registration is beneficial upon hiring and will be required following employment.
- 0 - 3 years of experience in professional services, capital markets, corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, or related fields is considered an asset.
- Recent completion of the Exempt Market Proficiency Course or Canadian Securities Course is considered an asset.
- Strong quantitative skills with a focus on financial analysis, accounting, and financial theory.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
- Solid understanding of business fundamentals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high quality client-facing materials.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
